1. Are drinks included?
Have you tried asking Siri this? Is she still thinking? You must be on the Sprint Network with us. Oh well, good thing you came to this page because the answer is NO.
2. Is tipping acceptable?
While our guides really love to spend time with all of you every night, most are starving young professionals or college students. So yes, we do allow tips, but only if you had a great time. Oh and just because our guides might be overweight, doesn’t mean they aren’t starving. There is a reason we put them on the walking tour.
3. Can I just show up at the meeting place without purchasing a ticket in advance?
You can, but it would be ill advised. We will only accept you if the tour is not already full and you had better believe that there is a service fee for making us bring a credit card machine on the tour. Also note that on occasion we will contact all guests who purchased tickets to meet at a different location based on special events in the area.
4. How much is the fee for question 3?
Great question, it is $7.50 per ticket. Is that enough to encourage you to purchase in advance? Sorry, but we really like to have our night planned out and the only things we love to see unannounced are the ghosts.
5. How long is the tour?
They are usually about 2.5-3 hours long, but sometimes our guides and groups have such a good time that they stop at additional places beyond the planned tour. If you want it to be exactly two and a half hours then please don’t buy our guides any drinks.
6. Do the tour guides drink on the tour?
How is it that question 5 always leads to question 6? All of our guides are 21+, so we think they can make adult decisions. We do want to tell you that around the 3rd or 4th stop our guides get more entertaining. This is just an observation that people have told us, not really sure why this is the case, but maybe the guides are nervous meeting everyone at first.
7. How much walking is involved during this tour?
We always recommend checking with your doctor to see if you are fit for a walking tour. It usually covers about 1 mile, but the routes change with the season. We also make 3-4 stops during this time, which may or may not have seating.
8. What is the surprise gift?
Are you not shocked that this is not the number one question we get? Well, we think it’s because people really like surprises and trust us, we really want to tell you. However, all we will say is that it is smaller than a car, bigger than a marble and you will get one if you check in on time.
9. How should I get to the starting line?
Best Option? How about a free ride up to $25 Dollars on us? Check out our Lyft Partnership by clicking HERE.
We encourage the use of public transportation before and AFTER this tour.
The White House tour has close Metro stations; Metro Center and Farragut West, which are off the red, blue and orange lines, for the White House Pub Tour. Also, most taxi drivers will be familiar with the Occidental Grill.
The Capitol Hill Dive Bar Tour starts approximately .25 miles from Capitol South metro stop and .38 miles from the Eastern Market metro stop and both of those stops are Blue and Orange.
The Old Town Tour has a free trolley that runs from the King St metro station all the way to our starting point. If you can’t take that, we highly reccomend a cab. We take safety seriously, so however you get to and from, please do it responsibly.
The Georgetown Tour is easiest accessed by cab and it is on K St NW, near the Georgetown waterfront.
10. Holy Ghost, it’s 8:25PM and I am never going to make it by 8:30PM, what do I do?
Not to worry, just call 1-8-Ghost-Tour (1-844-678-8687) and let them know when you think you can get there and we can let you know where the tour will be. This will disqualify you from the surprise and we reserve the right to not tell you what it was.
11. Does everyone in our group have to be 21+?
Yes!! There is just something about a screaming baby that is not nearly as funny as when the adults on our tour get scared and scream. We make exceptions, but those must be arranged in advance, just email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or call us 1-8-Ghost-Tour (1-844-678-8687).
12. Is the tour really scary?
It can be, are you afraid of the dark??? The Capitol Hill Dive bar is a little more freaky, but that could just be the clientele of the dive bars…. Overall, our tours offer a scare factor between a labrador puppy and you losing your phone.
