One haunted bar, one nightcap and ninety minutes of Uptown Charlotte's grown-up ghost stories, all for your group alone. The Private Nightmares and Nightcaps Tour is the darker, shorter cousin of our pub crawl.
📍 Departs from: Dunhill Hotel, 237 N Tryon St. Just INSIDE the lobby entrance. — please arrive about 15 minutes early to check in with your guide.
Your group meets its costumed guide at the Dunhill Hotel and steps into a haunted bar for an optional nightcap while the guide explains who is still hanging around behind the taps. Then you head into the historic Wards of Uptown Charlotte for about a mile of walking past the McGlohon Theatre, Old Settlers Cemetery and the buildings whose stories we keep off the family tour: untimely deaths, unquiet graves and a hotel elevator that stops on floors nobody asked for.
This is the right fit for a friends' night out, a bachelorette crew that has done the rooftop bars, a date night with a little adrenaline or a work team that wants one drink and a lot of stories. Private tours run every day with start times from 1 pm to 8 pm, and the length, meeting location and drink stop can be adjusted to your group. Guests at the Dunhill, The Ivey's, Holiday Inn Center City or Aloft Uptown at the EpiCentre can have the guide meet them in the lobby.
Pricing starts at $325 for up to 10 guests, with extra tickets from $27.50, and rises to $375 during the mid-September to mid-November peak. One guide handles 16 to 22 guests depending on the date; larger groups add another guide. Everyone must be 18 or older and only guests 21+ with ID may buy alcohol. Your guide closes the night by recommending another favorite haunted bar nearby.

Do guests need to be 21?
No. The tour is 18+. Only guests who want to order the nightcap need to be 21 with a valid ID.

How do we book a larger group?
Base pricing covers up to 10 guests. Reserve online for up to 15 and email us for 16 or more so we can add a guide.
What if the weather turns?
We walk rain or shine, and the first stop is indoors. If conditions become unsafe we will reach out about rescheduling.
