Savannah Spooktacular All-Ages Ghost Walk
Savannah is a city built on her own dead, quite literally, with squares and streets laid out over old burial grounds. The Spooktacular is our family-friendly, 90-minute walk through the Historic District to meet the residents who never got the eviction notice.
📍 Departs from: Tandem Coffee & Spirits, 225 E. Bay St. (Sundays: Savannah Taphouse, 125 E. Broughton St.) — please arrive about 15 minutes early to check in with your guide.
Your costumed guide gathers the group in the Historic District and leads you a little under a mile through Savannah's famous squares over about ninety minutes. The route passes under live oaks dripping with Spanish moss, alongside the old burial grounds that the city grew up over and past the grand hotels where guests have reported ghostly soldiers still standing watch in the hallways. Some of the prettiest corners in Savannah have the ugliest histories, and your guide knows which is which.
The stories reach from colonial Savannah through the Civil War and the yellow fever years: the soldier at the Marshall House still crying out for his missing limbs, the spirits lingering in squares built over forgotten graves, and the pirates, poltergeists and founding families who left a lot of unfinished business behind. This is the all-ages version, so the guide keeps the gore in check and the fun turned up. Most of the spirits are friendly, and the guide knows how to steer around the ones that are not.
The tour runs about ninety minutes, all outdoors, rain or shine, so dress for Savannah weather and wear comfortable shoes for the brick sidewalks. Minors need an accompanying adult, and children 4 and under join free with a paying adult. There are no drink stops on this walk, though adults may pick up a to-go cup before departure as Savannah allows, and your guide will have dinner recommendations when you finish.

Is it too scary for kids?
No. This is our all-ages tour and the guide keeps the stories spooky rather than gruesome. Minors must be with an adult, and children 4 and under are free.
How much walking is there?
A little under a mile over 90 minutes on brick sidewalks and through the squares. Strollers work with a bit of care; comfortable shoes are a must.
Does the tour stop at bars?
No. The Spooktacular has no bar stops. Adults 21+ are welcome to grab a to-go drink before the walk begins, as Savannah's open-container rules allow in the Historic District.
What if it rains?
We walk rain or shine, and the oaks provide decent cover. Bring a poncho. If weather becomes unsafe we will contact you about rescheduling.
