Ybor City built its fortune on cigars and its reputation on rum runners, and plenty of both crowds are still hanging around. This private pub crawl takes your group through Cigar City's haunted bars with a costumed guide all to yourselves.

The Private Booze and Boos Tour is a 2.5-hour walk through historic Ybor City with stops at three or four haunted bars. At each one your group settles in for a drink while the guide introduces the regulars who never left, then you walk the brick streets under the old cigar factories hearing about the Don Vicente Inn, nicknamed Hotel Hell for good reason, the ghost sightings at the Florida Brewery and the rum runners who moved product through these blocks during Prohibition and never quite cleared out.
Tampa companies book this for team-building and holiday parties, and friends book it for birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette weekends and relatives who think Tampa is all beaches and Buccaneers. Being private, it bends to your plans: most tours start between 6 and 9 pm but afternoons work, drop a stop to shorten the night, skip the drinks or have the guide meet your group where you are finishing dinner. Guests at Hotel Haya, Hampton Inn and Suites Ybor City, Hilton Garden Inn Ybor, Vista Village or the Citrus Inn can have the guide meet them at the hotel.
Pricing starts at $350 for up to 10 guests, with additional tickets from $30, and rises to $400 from mid-September through mid-November. One guide handles 15 to 20 people depending on the date; groups of 15 or more book by email and larger groups are split across guides. Everyone must be 21 or older with ID. The TECO streetcar's Centro Ybor stop is right at the start, street parking is free for two hours if you can find it and garages are nearby.

How many people can we bring?
The base rate covers up to 10 guests and one guide takes 15 to 20 depending on the date. Larger groups are split across guides at an additional charge; groups of 15 or more book by email.
Are drinks included?
No. Drinks average $8 to $14 at the bars. Guests pay their own way or the organizer can cover the group tab, and your guide knows the specials.
How far ahead should we book?
As soon as your date is firm. Private tours cannot be guaranteed more than a month in advance, and Ybor weekends fill up fast.
What if the weather is bad?
We tour rain or shine. The bar stops are indoors and the walks between them are short. Tampa storms usually pass before the second round.
