The Private Booze and Boos Tour is a 2.5-hour walk through the historic blocks near the White House, Lafayette Square and the edge of Capitol Hill, with stops at 3–4 haunted bars along the way. Your group meets its costumed guide at a haunted bar and heads out between stops for the stories the monuments leave out: duels and assassinations, séances in the executive mansion, the boarding houses where conspirators met and the taverns where more than one deal was sealed by someone who is still, by some accounts, keeping an eye on the place.
A private tour suits a work team in town for a conference, a bachelor or bachelorette weekend, a reunion of old friends or a birthday that deserves better than a restaurant. Start times run from 1 pm to 8:30 pm, any day of the week, and the pace and starting location can be adjusted to your group. Guests staying at a downtown hotel near the route can arrange in advance for the guide to meet them in the lobby.
Pricing starts at $350 for up to 10 guests, with additional tickets from $30, and rises to $400 from mid-September through mid-November. One guide takes 14 to 20 guests depending on the date and time; larger groups add a second guide. Everyone must be 21 or older with valid ID. Metro Center, McPherson Square and Farragut West stations are all a short walk from the route, and ride-share is the easiest way home.

What is the age requirement?
Everyone on the Booze and Boos must be 21 or older with valid ID, since the stops are bars. For mixed-age groups, book the Private Spooktacular instead.
How does booking work for a large group?
Reserve online for up to 15 guests. For 16 or more, email us so we can confirm a second guide. Base pricing covers 10 guests with per-person tickets after that.
Is gratuity included?
Gratuity for your guide is added to private tours at $5 per guest and shared among the guides who work your tour. Tips at the bars are up to you.
Do we have to drink?
No. Drinks are optional and paid for separately at each stop; plenty of guests stick to soda or water and enjoy the stories just as much.
Do you cancel in the rain?
Rarely. We walk rain or shine, so bring umbrellas. If weather becomes unsafe we will reach out to reschedule your group.
