Boston Private Booze and Boos Tour

The Private Booze and Boos Tour is a 2.5-hour walk through downtown Boston and Beacon Hill, with three or four stops at haunted bars along the way. At each one you settle in for a drink while your guide tells you who else is still drinking there, then it is back out onto the brick sidewalks past the Granary Burying Ground, Boston Common and the Omni Parker House, where the stories include a woman hanged for witchcraft and hotel guests who checked in but never quite checked out.

This is the format corporate teams, bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthday crowds and holiday-party planners keep coming back to, because it does the hard part for you. The route is a built-in icebreaker, the drinks keep everyone loose and the stories give the group something to argue about afterward. Being private, it also bends to your plans: drop a stop to shorten the night, skip the drinks, or have the guide start and end at the restaurant where you are eating. Most tours begin between 6 and 9 pm, any day of the week.

If your group is staying at the Omni Parker House, Hyatt Regency Boston, Four Seasons, Moxy Boston Downtown, Boston Park Plaza or Revere Hotel Boston Common, your guide will meet you in the lobby at no extra charge. Pricing starts at $350 for up to 10 guests, with extra tickets from $30, and steps up during the mid-September to mid-November season. All guests must be 21 or older with ID.
