Denver Spooktacular All-Ages Ghost Walk

The walk begins inside Celtic on Market at 1400 Market Street and heads out through Lower Downtown, covering a little under a mile in about ninety minutes. Your costumed guide leads you through historic Larimer Square, along Market Street and past Union Station, where former patrons are said to still be waiting for trains that stopped running a century ago. The route also crosses the city's old red-light district, which has more than its share of stories and, by many accounts, more than its share of residents who never left.

The stories lean on frontier justice and the seedier side of Denver's boom years: saloon shootouts, hangings, the women who ran Market Street and the hotel guests who checked out in unusual ways. What makes this walk different is that our guides have actually investigated many of these buildings, so the tales come with first-hand encounters and a chance to try real ghost-hunting equipment yourself. Most of the spirits are friendly, and guides tune the telling for whoever is in the group, from curious kids to skeptical grandparents.

Tours run rain, snow or shine, all outdoors, so dress for Colorado weather and wear comfortable shoes. Minors need an accompanying adult, and children 4 and under join free with a paying adult. There are no bar stops on this all-ages walk, though you are welcome to grab a drink at Celtic before heading out, and your guide will have dinner suggestions when you finish.
