San Diego Private Booze and Boos Tour
The Gaslamp Quarter's historic bars have been pouring since the Stingaree days, and a few patrons never paid their tab. This private pub crawl takes your group through three of them with a costumed guide all to yourselves, year-round.

The Private Booze and Boos Tour is a 2.5-hour walk through the Gaslamp Quarter with stops at three or four haunted bars. At each one your group settles in for a drink while the guide introduces the regulars who never left, then you walk Fifth Avenue and the surrounding blocks hearing about the old red-light district, the Horton Grand's permanent guests, the Whaley House, Kate Morgan of the Hotel del Coronado and the ships in the harbor that carry more than cargo. Ask ahead and the guide will even work a guest of honor's name into one of the stories.
San Diego companies book this for team-building, convention outings and holiday parties, and friends book it for birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette weekends and relatives who think the city is all beaches. Being private, it bends to your plans: most tours start between 5 and 9 pm but afternoons work, drop a stop to shorten the night, skip the drinks or have the guide meet your group where you are finishing dinner. Guests at Hotel Indigo Gaslamp, Marriott Gaslamp, Hard Rock, Omni, Horton Grand, Comfort Inn Gaslamp or Hotel Z can have the guide meet them at the hotel.
Pricing starts at $320 for up to 10 guests, with additional tickets from $27, and rises to $370 from mid-September through mid-November. One guide handles 16 to 20 people depending on the date; groups of 16 or more book by email and larger groups are split across guides. Everyone must be 21 or older with ID. Private tours run year-round even when public departures are off-season, and Gaslamp garages and the trolley make getting there easy.

How many people can we bring?
The base rate covers up to 10 guests and one guide takes 16 to 20 depending on the date. Larger groups are split across guides at an additional charge; groups of 16 or more book by email.
Are drinks included?
No. Drinks average $8 to $14 at the bars. Guests pay their own way or the organizer can cover the group tab, and your guide knows the specials.
Is this available year-round?
Yes. Public San Diego tours run seasonally, but private tours can be booked any day of the year, pending guide availability.
Can you personalize it?
Yes. Tell us about a birthday guest or the person being roasted and the guide can work their name into one of the stories. We can also start or end at your dinner spot.
