Dallas Haunted History Field Trip
How did a trading post on the Trinity River become a city of glass towers, and why are so many of those towers haunted? Our Dallas field trip answers both with a costumed guide and a walk through downtown and historic Deep Ellum.
📍 Departs from: Main Street Garden Park. At the cafe on the corner of Main and St. Paul. — please arrive about 15 minutes early to check in with your guide.
Groups meet their guide at Main Street Garden Park and set off past some of the most haunted buildings in downtown Dallas on the way to historic Deep Ellum. Along the route the guide covers how Dallas began, how it grew into a corporate powerhouse and which of its citizens refused to go along with progress, in life or afterward. Students hear about political scandal, ghostly businessmen still minding their offices and the lesser-known jazz and blues legends of Deep Ellum, a few of whom are said to still be playing.
The walking tour is recommended for ages 9 and up and is offered to school groups, camps and youth organizations Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, for groups of 5 to 100. For younger students a guide can come to you in historic costume with stories and games adjusted to the age level. Our guides are storytellers with Dallas history and paranormal backgrounds, experienced with kids of all ages and fully background-checked. Most spirits are friendly, and guides know where to steer around the ones that are not.
Pricing is a flat $215 for groups of 15 or fewer, $15 per student for 16 to 40 and $13 per student over 40, each plus a 15% service charge. One chaperone per 10 students is free, aides for participants with disabilities are free and extra adults are $20. Bring bagged lunches for Main Street Garden Park, and pair the trip with the Sixth Floor Museum, Dallas Museum of Art, Reunion Tower or the Majestic Theatre nearby.

What ages is the field trip for?
The walking tour is recommended for ages 9 and up. For younger classes a costumed guide can visit your site with age-appropriate stories and games.
How do we book?
Field trips are for schools, camps and youth organizations only, weekdays 9 am to 5 pm. Contact us with your date, group size and grade level.
What about weather?
The tour runs rain or shine and is mostly outdoors. Have students wear comfortable shoes and dress for the forecast. Extreme weather may lead to cancellation under our terms.
Can students with special needs join?
Yes. Tell us in advance and the guide will adapt the route and stories. Aides supporting participants with disabilities join free.
