New Orleans Haunted History Field Trip
New Orleans history is already a ghost story, so we lean in. Our field trip walks students through the French Quarter with a costumed, city-licensed guide who makes the Louisiana Purchase and the city's founders a lot more memorable than a textbook.
📍 Departs from: In front of Jackson Square — please arrive about 15 minutes early to check in with your guide.
Groups meet their guide at Jackson Square, where the Louisiana Purchase was formalized, and begin with St. Louis Cathedral and the story of how the city came to be. From there the walk moves through the French Quarter past some of the oldest buildings in New Orleans, with the guide pairing each one with its history and the spirits said to still occupy it. Students hear about the city's founding members, and may meet one of them in ghostly form along the way.
The walking tour is recommended for ages 9 and up and is offered to school groups, camps and youth organizations Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, for groups of 5 to 100. For younger students a guide can come to you in historic costume with stories and games adjusted to the age level. Our guides are storytellers with New Orleans history and paranormal backgrounds, licensed by the City of New Orleans and fully background-checked. Most spirits are friendly, and guides know where to steer around the rest.
Pricing is a flat $215 for groups of 15 or fewer, $15 per student for 16 to 40 and $13 per student over 40, each plus a 15% service charge. One chaperone per 10 students is free, aides for participants with disabilities are free and extra adults are $20. Jackson Square has room for bagged lunches, and the French Market nearby has food and restrooms. Parking is scarce, so plan the bus drop-off ahead of time.

What ages is the field trip for?
The walking tour is recommended for ages 9 and up. For younger classes a costumed guide can visit your site with age-appropriate stories and games.
How do we book?
Field trips are for schools, camps and youth organizations only, weekdays 9 am to 5 pm. Contact us with your date, group size and grade level.
What about weather?
The tour runs rain or shine and is mostly outdoors. Have students wear comfortable shoes and dress for the forecast. Extreme weather may lead to cancellation under our terms.
Can students with special needs join?
Yes. Tell us in advance and the guide will adapt the route and stories. Aides supporting participants with disabilities join free.
