Alexandria Private Spooktacular Ghost Walk

The Private Spooktacular Ghost Walk packs as many haunted sites as will fit into ninety minutes of strolling through Old Town Alexandria. Expect roughly a mile on foot past colonial storefronts, shadowy alleys and the Potomac waterfront, with your guide stopping at each spot to tell what happened there and who, apparently, never left. The stories cover ghost ships on the river, soldiers from long-finished wars and founding fathers with unfinished business, all told at a level that works for kids and grown-ups together.

Private walks are popular with family reunions, scout troops, birthday parties, church and youth groups, and office teams who want an outing that does not revolve around a bar. Because the tour is yours, the flexibility is real: start as early as 10 am or as late as 9 pm, any day of the week, shorten or lengthen the route, choose your own meeting point, or add an ice cream or dessert stop. Guests staying at the Hotel Indigo or The Alexandrian Old Town can have the guide meet them right in the lobby.

Pricing starts at $300 for up to 10 guests, with additional tickets from $25 each, and rises to $350 during the mid-September to mid-November peak. A single guide handles 18 to 22 people depending on the date; larger groups get a second guide. There are no food or drink stops and we do not enter the haunted buildings, so the pace stays brisk and the stories keep coming.
