Your group meets its costumed guide at The Griffon on Vendue Range, a bar where the regulars include a few who have been dead for some time. Order an optional nightcap, hear about the spirits behind the bar, then head into the French Quarter for about a mile of walking past historic buildings with shadowy stories at every corner. Unlike our Booze and Boos pub crawl, this tour visits a single bar, so more of the ninety minutes is spent on the streets where the hauntings actually happened.
Private Nightmares and Nightcaps suits a friends' weekend, a bachelorette party that wants chills with its cocktails, a date-night double feature or a work team that prefers one good drink and a lot of good stories. Private tours run every day with start times from 1 pm to 10 pm, and the length, meeting location and drink stop can all be adjusted. Guests at the Market Pavilion Hotel, The Mills House, Planters Inn, Fulton Lane Inn or Kings Courtyard Inn can have the guide walk to them.
Pricing starts at $350 for up to 10 guests, with extra tickets from $30, and rises to $400 during the mid-September to mid-November season. One guide takes 16 to 20 guests depending on the date; larger groups add another guide. Everyone must be 18 or older and only guests 21+ with ID can buy alcohol. The garage at 90 Cumberland Street is a short walk from both ends of the route.

Who can join?
Anyone 18 or older. Drinking is optional, and only guests 21+ with a valid ID can order at the bar.
How is this different from the Private Booze and Boos?
Shorter, darker and lighter on the bar time. One bar stop instead of three, ninety minutes instead of two and a half hours, and stories told without the filter.
How do we book and what does it cost?
Base pricing covers up to 10 guests. Reserve online for up to 15, and email us for 16 or more so we can add a guide.
Does weather cancel the tour?
Not usually. We walk rain or shine and the first stop is indoors. We will contact you if conditions become unsafe.
