Charleston Private Spooktacular Ghost Walk

The Private Spooktacular Ghost Walk starts at Waterfront Park, where the harbor breeze and the view toward Fort Sumter set the mood, then heads into the Charleston French Quarter for about a mile of walking. Your guide packs in as many haunted sites as ninety minutes allows: centuries-old graveyards, alleys where pirates and poltergeists made trouble, the oldest buildings in the Holy City and the harbor stories that keep the spirits watchful. The walk stays outdoors and does not enter any of the buildings, which keeps the stories coming without the waiting.

Private walks are the easy answer for family reunions, youth groups, wedding-weekend outings, birthday parties and work teams that want something everyone can join regardless of age or drinking habits. Start as early as 10 am or as late as 10 pm, any day of the week, and tweak the length, meeting location or add an ice cream stop along the way. Guests staying at the Market Pavilion Hotel, The Mills House, Planters Inn, Fulton Lane Inn or Kings Courtyard Inn can have the guide meet them at the hotel.

Pricing starts at $300 for up to 10 guests, with additional tickets from $25, and rises to $350 from mid-September through mid-November. One guide takes 18 to 22 guests depending on the date; larger groups add a second guide. The meeting point is easy to reach by ride-share or CARTA, and the garage at 90 Cumberland Street sits near both the start and the finish.
